We are seeking an Exchange Administrator to provide comprehensive support services for a Federal Government customer in Washington, D.C.
Must past Agency background check.
The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) requires engineering and integration services to migrate from Microsoft Exchange 2007 to a new Exchange 2013 environment. Synaptek is seeking Information Technology Engineers with Disaster Recovery (DR) experience to design and implement a new Exchange 2013 environment at the clients Alternate Data Center.
The solution will enable FTC Tier I Exchange application the ability to fail over to the ADC in the event of a major disaster affecting FTC’s Headquarters (HQ) data center availability.

Build and deploy Exchange 2013 based on industry standards and FTC supplied architecture and design specification document
The finalized FTC Exchange 2013 Deployment plan must be tested in stuck it is a repeatable process
Contractor shall migrate Exchange 2007 data to the newly build Exchange 2013 system in a manner that both systems can operate in parallel until Exchange 2007 system can be phase out
Shall ensure that the new FTC Exchange 2013 architecture utilizes the Microsoft clustering with the Exchange 2013 Database Availability Group
Ensure the new FTC Exchange messaging system is capable of replication active Exchange 2013 email database to the passive email database hosted on each cluster server
Ensure that the new FTC messaging system is capable of failing over active database to passive database in Database Availability Group
Ensure that the new FTC messaging system integrates with Certificate Authentication, PIV and MaaS360 Mobile Device Management
Shall test the new FTC Messaging system with FTCs Security Configuration Checklist
Ensure that the new FTC Exchange 2013 environment is hosted on FTC Production VMware virtual servers
Conduct knowledge transfer of the system maintenance for the new Exchange 2013 system
Shall decommission and remove the legacy Exchange 2007 system from the production environment when the migration is complete
Update deliverables based on feedback from Core Engineering staff
Follow all FTC policies, standards and guidelines
All deliverables are subject to review and approval by the Core Engineering Staff
Required Skills:
Capability to ensure high-level project design is mapped to deliverables, create Work Breakdown Structure and update deliverables based on feedback from FTC Core Engineering staff. Works as part of an Engineering and Integration team (Windows Engineer, VMware Engineer, Enterprise Engineer) to review current and future infrastructure (HW/SW) configurations/requirements, map existing Tier I services to a failover solution. Review and analyze information requirements and system specifications and evaluate system problems for proposing solutions to address information technology shortfalls. Identify and implement failover using client provide HW/SW. Test and implement changes following clients Change Management process. Install and configure redundant MaaS360 Server(s) Cloud Extender and Gateway. Install additional Exchange server node(s) at ADC. Build and deploy Exchange 2013 based on industry standards and FTC supplied architecture and design specifications document. Finalized plan must be tested such as it is a repeatable process. Candidate will migrate 2007 data to newly built Exchange 2013 in a manner that both systems can operate in parallel until legacy Exchange system can be phase out.
Master's Degree (or Bachelor's Degree & two years' experience or six years' experience
Must be able to pass agency background check.
